One of my friends posted this pic on FB. If this is true, I've been using way too much product. If I use this much product can I afford to buy Sisley because my products will last 2-3x longer? I'm not sure so I started experimenting with the current products I have on hand to see how I would "feel" using the diagram above. This is what I discovered: After one week, my skin felt dry and not as soft and supple as it normally does. But that could just be me other thinking it. After two weeks and drinking more water, I felt like I was still a little dry but not as dry. At week three, I increased my water intake more and used a little more product than week 1 and 2 but not as much as before and my face and skin felt really good! Conclusion: water definitely helps, I use way too much product and the diagram above it wrong! Well- I shouldn't say it's "wrong." I should say "it's not right for me and the products I'm using." There you have it folks, the internet is not always right. Anyways, I just uploaded a new vid testing out new samples of products from Fenty Beauty and Charlotte Tillbury. Guess if I liked them?!

When I first started YouTube I stumbled on some videos where people would take makeup, beauty and hair samples and test them out for the week. I had a bunch of samples accumulated so I wanted part of the fun. I figured it was a good way to discover new products and use up the samples that were taking up space in my drawer. The series lasted 11 weeks. I decided to end the series due to time constraints and changing the days I was going to upload. The last video I created for Sample Sunday's was back in April. Well, now it's October and I've decided to bring the series back! I'm bringing it back for a few reasons: 1. My new upload schedule changing from Mon, Wed and Fri to Sunday, Monday and Friday. I'm going to try these days to see how I feel. 2. I'm in search of a new foundation because my summer tan is fading and I can get foundation samples at Sephora for free!!! 3. I'm on a pseudo "no buy" right now and this is a great way to talk about products without paying for it. Here is the revamped series staring with Fenty Beauty foundation and Charlotte Tillbury Magic Cream. If you want to see the original series and how much I've improved in my YouTube skills- I will link the videos below. I recently changed the thumbnails on the first 10 because I didn't know how to make thumbnails back when I started. The 11th one I attempted to create one of my first thumbnails and I decided to keep it the way it was for prosperity. I recently did a collaboration video with Courtney Madewell, my friend from YouTube where we took the Jaclyn Hill palette and used as many colors to do a full face. We used the eyeshadows for brows, blush, contour, etc. I had a lot of fun doing this video because it made me think outside of the box. Ive seen a few videos of people trying this challenge and then I saw this one. This video was done by Vanessa from Vanessa Loves The Makeup here on YouTube and she is also my friend. Not only did she do a beautiful look using one palette but she was also very creative about it too. She used the Urban Decay Electric palette which has a lot of bright and bold colors. I was very impressed how her look came out. I've got to be honest- I was a little scared when she said she was going to use the UD palette. There aren't that many colors in the palette and there aren't any browns, beiges or taupes either- all just bold and bright. Check her her video out: Here is what my friend Courtney created: And here is my video: This is what I was sent in my 4th box. I will be honest- I was very excited about this box. The white tank looks nice and airy which would be perfect for the LA heatwave we've been having. The chambray top and the denim pullover looked perfect for when I traveled to Green Bay, WI to see the Packers play their season opener against the Seahawks. Weather in WI is supposed to be in the 60's. I think this top may have been mismarked because it was so hard to pull on and pull off. I almost had to call my neighbor to help me take this top off because my husband wasn't home at that time. Plus it was so sheer! This top looked awful on. I was just going to pack the two other tops for my trip to Green Bay when I decided to try them on. I'm glad I do because the arms were so tight around my biceps I had to ask my husband to help me out of both tops. Thankfully he was home to assist. I really wanted to keep the chambray top because it something I've been looking for to build my Capsule Wardrobe so when I saw NY&Co was sending it to me- I was very excited. Unfortunate my heavy workouts from CrossFit is going to prevent me from wearing these tops. Both the chambray and denim top were so tight on my biceps that I felt like stuffed sausages. Heres a couple of pics I found of me working out at my CF gym. I'm doing overhead squats. I've never had problems fitting into shirt sleeves until I started lifting weights. Don't mind my face- my facial expressions always look like I'm about to fart when I'm working out. Anyways- I thought I would add one of my older videos at the end of this blog. It's totally unrelated to the NY&Co or renting clothes but it is related to he gym. Here is a haul video of what I got at the Lululemon Outlets and how I save money using eBay. Enjoy! ...but it's rare that I get what I picked. One of the last last online orders I put in I requested the following: But this is what I got: Sephora, why do you act like we get a choice when we clearly done. Thanks for being a dream killer. Here's a video of one of my Sephora hauls where I actually got my requested samples. It's rare but it does happen. About 10% of the time. This was my 3rd box and only wore 1 out of the 3 items. This seems like a pattern. If you read my other blogs on this subscription you know this is the 3rd time that 1:3 item were wearable. Here were the issues: The floral top was too tight around my biceps. It was a pretty blouse but not comfortable. The black dress was too big around the hips and the butt. Not flattering at all. The only top I enjoyed was the chambray top. It was much like the white top I bought from them in the last box. I considered buying the first top but it was $16. If it was $11 like the white top I was would have totally kept it. I wore this top with my AG ripped jeans I recently got from Trunk Club. I paired it with some neon green Havainas and I wore my rented tassel earrings that I got from Rocksbox and I matched my Pat McGrath lipstick with. I felt especially cute that day. I got a lot of compliments on the whole ensemble. I ended up wearing it to a client dinner at Nick's in Manhattan Beach where I shared some fish tacos and fries with one of my clients. This is what I looked like. I think my glasses make me look smart. I'm committed to trying out 6 boxes but I have a feeling that I may keep it for longer. I keep seeing staple pieces in the collection for very affordable prices. I am trying to build a capsule wardrobe and get rid of more of my closet as we speak. If you want to know more about Rocksbox a jewelry rental service, watch the following video: I learned about the Sisley Beauty subscription from Serein Wu on YouTube. $10 a month to try out luxury Skincare seemed like quite a deal so I signed up to get the monthly subscription for a full year! I've never tried any Sisley products so I was really excited to see what it was all about. I got my first box several months ago and I tried everything in the box. I fell in love with the Double Tenseur. That was the stand out product in the bunch. It makes the best primer that allows your foundation to lay on your skin so beautifully and helps it lasts to a long, long time. According to Nordstrom it is highly rated with 5 out of 5 stars and is $192 for 1oz. Is it worth it? I have yet to buy it. Then in my second box I got another assortment of items including one of these foundations. I don't remember which one it is because I didn't save the package. Which ever one it was- I LOVED it! The foundation made my skin look so good. It was a "my skin but better" kind of look. I got so many compliments that day. I skull kind of think about getting this foundation. But I haven't yet. Then my 3rd box I got to try the Black Rose Face Oil. It was a small sample. It was amazing!!! I could tell right away that this was an oil that I needed in my life. I love face oils. But it is $235. I don't know if I want to pay that much right now for face oil. Then in my 4th box I got the Blaxk Rose Cream Mask. I've used it 3 times and it's seriously doing something to my skin. I may have to break down and set the $162 mask. Thankfully I still have some more product left to try it out for at least 2 more times. Maybe I will change my mind. I just got my lates box which I did a video on my YouTube channel. I did an unboxing and went through the prices if I was to buy the full size. One of the products was $525 if I fell in love with it. At that price- I should get Botox!!! Anyways- I decided that I would check each price of the full price and only try the things that intrest me and is a price I'm willing to pay. The rest I will put in a giveaway and either host them on my YouTube channel or on Instagram. Check out my Sisley unboxing and stay tuned for more unboxing of this luxury skincare brand. Few people have asked why I paint my nails 2 different colors. I just do it because I think it's fun! I've been doing this style for about a year now. I remember reading an article saying having 2 different colored nails (on two different hands) was going to be the "it" trend of the season. Well, I did just that as soon as I heard of it and it just stuck. I don't think anyone else is doing it tho. This is my latest colors of choice. I missed it up by having my left hand have red heart French tips. I think it's super cute and I'm definitely going to do this again.
The picture above was the latest rentals I got from the NY&Co Closet which one of the clothing rental subscriptions I subscribe to (These pictures are courtesy of the NY&Co website). This was my second box I got from them. I still have mixed feelings about this subscription but I'm willing to stick it out a few more times.
Before I review these pieces and reveal which one of these noises I bought- allow me to explain how this rental service works. First you sign up at nyandcocloset.com and create a profile. Then you create a "closet" from the selection of clothes they have. They suggest you have at least 8 items in there but they recommend to have 20 pieces. You can also "prioritize" pieces too! But does not guarantee those pieces will be sent to you. I think they will try their best to send the prioritize pieces but it's based on availability. They will email you a confirmation on the 3 pieces they are sending you so you can preview it. Unfortunately you can't swap any of them out or make adjustments. Once you receive your box, you will get the 3 pieces of clothing and a paid postage bag to return the items. You can wear them as long or as little as you want. The best part for me- you don't have to dry clean or launder them! Once you are done wearing them you cans send it back and they will send you another box with 3 more pieces. However, if you decide to keep any of the pieces; you just pay the member price which is discounted from the retail price. On to the review: The tropical top: I liked the way it fit but didn't like the print. I'm not sure why I put this piece in my closet. I think I thought it would look good under my suit. It doesn't. It's not good for a suit. And I'm not a fan of the coloring. A little too dark for me. The last top which had polka dots on it looked super cute on the model and I was hoping it would look good under my suit. It didn't. And it didn't look by itself either. It was too blousey and it made me look heavy. So I kept the white top in he middle. I wasn't planning on buying this top but the discounted price was $11- if was a bargain!!! I wore it a couple of times and each time I got at least 2 compliments about the top. I think I scored! If you want to sign up- the link is here:

Last thought as I was looking at my selfie: the earrings are rented from Rocksbox. I enjoyed them so much I decided to keep them. And they match my lipstick!

Here's a video I uploaded a couple months ago that discusses how Rocksbox works and a preview on what kinds of jewelry I get. Enjoy!
The beginning of the year I was introduced to Glossier and I fell in love with their lip balm called "Balm DotCom." I can honestly say it it my favorite balm of all time. I'm almost out of it and in fear that I would have to live with out it for even a minute sent me into a buying frenzy!
They add normally $12 each but if you buy 3- it's $30. So you save $6 for buying 3. OR I like to think of it like MAKING $6 by buying 3!!! Anyways- I got the traditional, the coconut and the birthday balm. And now I have 2 other favorite lip balms. The birthday one has s light shimmer on it which is very pretty btw. If you would like 10% off your first purchase- use the link below :)

I also got this at Sephora. This is a bunch of deluxe samples of lipsticks/lip glosses/liquid lipsticks/etc and they are all NUDE!!! Nude lippies are what I live for! I don't know how often Sephora comes out with this but each time they do- it's different and that makes it fun. I can't wait to try all these on.
The last thing I will share with you is this: I got the Pat McGrath TranceMatte Lipsticks. I got the "Everything Kit." All 9 shades.
Whats sad is- I already have 3 of them already. I got the Colour Blitz trio which has a red, a pink/red and and orange/red. So now that I gat all 9 shades- I have duplicates of the reds. I'm thinking of hosting a giveaway with the extra trio of red lips sticks. They were limited edition and aren't available anymore. Should I do a giveaway or sell them on eBay? Anyways- I uploaded a video on you YouTune channel where I do a haul of a bunch of makeup I bought which included these items. And I also discussed that I wanted to do a modified "no but." Let me know your thoughts. |
