I would be hard pressed to find someone who hasn't been affected by cancer. My father died of lung cancer in 2008 and I recently lost a friend/client to breast cancer last year (2016). She was only 43.
As I am in the mist of my decluttering/minimalism journey, I find myself trying f to figure out where I can give things away to. I mean, I can't throw somethings away. It seems like such a waste to throw away new and gently used items. Plus I don't want to fill the landfills with my crap. So with a little research and more work on my side I was able to find the organization DonateYourBra.com where I can donate my bras, lingerie and swimsuits. This organization provides support for breast cancer survivors who are in desperate need.
DonateYourBra.com is based out of Parker, AZ so yes you have to mail in your donations if you are not near that area. They make it easy do you to donate to them though. Jusy print off a donation list off of their website, fill it out with all the items that you are donating and include a self-addressed stamped envelope if you would like a receipt for your taxes. It's just that simple!!!
This is my second time donating to them. The first time was Thanksgiving last year. I will continue to donate to them as I declutter/minimize more of my closet and I find things that they need. I love that I can help breast cancer survivors. I know it's small but I will continually look for other avenues to fight this disease.
If you have been affected by cancer- let me know your story. And if you have a favorite organization that fights cancer and/or supports cancer survivors- let me know that too! If there is a way I can help, I will.
I hate cancer. Fuck cancer.

I recently got my 2nd box from The Ms Collection. To be honest I had low expectations for this box. But when I opened the box I was very hopeful that the items would work with my suit. Here's what I got:
This top from Bobeau. It's pink and grey with kind of a reptile/animal print. Not very impressive laying flat or on the hanger but it looked great under my suit!
I paired it with my rented necklace from Rocksbox which I think gave it a little something extra.
I did take this little number to happy hour I'm DTLA at a new place called TomGeorge. It was gorgeous in there! I had sparking water because I'm still not drinking for a couple more weeks and we noshed on a cheese and meat plate along with a few appetizers.
I also wore this red top from Tart. I liked this one right away. The color and fabric was great. Considered keeping it.
I wore this top with the same necklace from Rocksbox and my lace flats from Tieks. I wish I could wear my heels everyday but I can't. Oh- to be young again...
This little number got to take some clients out for sushi in Pasadena. We went to Sugar Fish (of course)! Unfortunately one of my clients is doing Whole30 so he just ate around the rice. He missed out on SF uniqueness by not eating the rice. It took everything out of me not to eat his rice off of his plate. Why is there rice so good?!?!
I didn't wear these 2 items: a green Bobeau top and a blazer from Sweet Rain. The blazer was tight on my biceps (what can I say- I swol!) and the green top was too dark for my taste.
Overall, I'm happy the items I did get to wear and I'm optimistic that the next box will be better than this one. Fingers crossed...
Anyways, I thought I'd add a video of one of my Rocksbox unboxing so you can see what it's all about. It's one of my favorite services. Check it out!
I signed up for The Ms Collection clothing rental service a few weeks ago. I wanted to give my review on my first box. In full disclosure- this is not my fist time using this service. I tried them out during the summer and then cancelled after the 3rd box. TMC has several different plans to choose from: Ms Play ($49) which is weekend and evening attire, Ms Business ($59) which is work and professional attire and Ms Combo ($113) which is a combination of work and play. My first attempt with TMC was Ms Play. It just didn't work for me so that's why I cancelled.
I follow this girl on IG (@rentedlifestyle) and she post so many cute things from TMC that I decided to try it again but go the route of Ms Business. Still on the fence on this service but I'm dedicated to give this a try.
Here's how the service works:
- take a style quiz
- give your sizes
- link your Pintrest account with style preference
- give feedback on items receive so the next box will be curated to your preference
Here's what I got in my first box:
Arc & Co navy blazer.
This blazer fit everywhere but my biceps. I could not wear this. Plus I requested a blazer to wear with my black suit and since this was navy- I didn't think the colors would go together.
I did not wear this item.
Vince Camuto top.
This is is something I would love to wear underneath my suit. It's lightweight and simple. Unfortunately it cut me at my underarms. This is the second time this has happened to me this month. I really feel like I have fat pits :/
I did not wear this item.
Black top by Sanctuary
This top is very pretty but a little to sheet for my taste. Pls it was black and I do not like wearing black blouses with my black suit. It's too bad because I like the jeweled details on the neckline.
I did not wear this top.
Margaret Elizabeth bracelet
This is something I would totally buy and would wear all the time. It was very pretty and the picture does not give it justice. Perfect for layering with other bracelets.
I did not wear this item. Not because I didn't want to it's just that nothing else fit or worked so I sent back the box the same day I got it.
The he one thing that throws me off on this service is that a stylist picks everything out for you. You don't get to preview anything or swap items out for ones you want. You really leave it up to TMC to curate a box for you.
I like the element of surprise but it annoys me at the same time. Thankfully TheMsCollectiom will send me another box as soon as they receive this one and the $59 I'm paying is for an unlimited number of boxes during the month. I'm giving it at least 6 boxes before I decide if I will keep it or not. We shall see....
Le Tote is a clothing subscription I use to supplement my wardrobe. The cost that I pay is $59 a month for unlimited "totes" that normally consists of 3 articles of clothing and 2 accessories a month but I switched over to 4 articles of clothing and no accessories. I usually choose 2 things for the weekend and 2 blouses I can wear under my suit for work. The difference between Le Tote and Rent The Runway is that you have to send the whole "tote" back in order to get the next one. With RTR, you can send one piece at a time and and replace them so you will always have 3 pieces at home. The price is also a big difference too- RTR is $139. The lowest price dress retail at RTR is about $300 and the labels are all designer and LT is highest priced dress is $100 retail.
I will be honest and say that its been hit and miss with LT since I started using there services. It's been difficult to know how things exactly fit with some of the pieces they offer because there isn't a lot of information on the app/site. They don't give "real girl" reviews like they do at RTR so for a pear/athletic shaped girl- it's hard to tell if its going to be tight on my butt or biceps which has happened a few times. But I feel as long as 3 out of the 4 fits- I'm happy. This past week I was happy.
Here is what I got and what I did when I wore them:
Friday: Summer and Sage nautical striped sweater. I wore this after work and did some office work for my day job at Starbucks. I'm loving this label. I'm glad LT has them- all of there items have been very flattering for my body type. I'm always on the look out for this brand on the app because I know I will always get a winner when I rent Summer and Sage.
Saturday: Octavia aztec draped cardigan. I wore this when I met my FB Minimalist group in Long Beach. It was the first time I was able to meet up with the Minimalist group. I will have to blog about my journey to minimalism in another post soon but I will say that renting clothes has definitely helped me minimize my closet. Anyways, this was a great cardy. I wore it on Sunday and Monday. I normally would never buy this kind of print because I don't really know if it's my "style" but I do think the print is very pretty. The color combo was very attractive too. If I did buy something like this- I would probably wear it a few times and it would hang in my closet for long time until I try to sell it or donate it. That's what makes renting clothes so great: you can try different styles and experiment with fashion with none of the commitment and at fraction of the cost. Plus no dry cleaning and/or laundry.
Tuesday: Ava animal print blouse. I wore with under my suit and it looked and felt great. I love anything animal print. I especially love wearing animal print with my suits because it adds a little something extra to the outfit. I will definitely rent this again. This little number had lunch at SugarFish in Pasadena and had a great time.
I didn't wear this top. Apparently my pits are fat because it cut into my under arms. It was too bad because I thought the top was pretty and it would have looked beautiful under my suit for work. This was Octavia ruffle sleeve top in a size M. If I went a size up, it would have been too blousey and looked sloppy.
So this tote was pretty good since I got a lot of use of the majority of the items. I sent back the tote a few days ago and put my account on hold for a week because I am trying another service called The Ms Collection. I will do an unboxing video on YouTube for you and then write a blog review on the items after. Until next time...
****I'm updating my blog and my YouTube channel and added the video below to this blog as of 9/6/17. I also created a thumbnail for this vid. Enjoy!
Here is what I wore the 2nd week of January from RentTheRunway: a DVF black wrap dress, an Andrew Marc coat, an Equiptment leopard print blouse and a Badgley Mischka red dress. I really enjoy rented clothes from RTR because it gives me the ability to have access to a high-end/designer closet at the fraction of the cost. Its like old school Netflix but for clothes. AND I don't have to pay for or pick up my dry cleaning!!! I mean- it quite less anyways. I'm saving money and time. Who doesn't want more money and more time!? Plus I've been able to downsize my closet that I can actually fit all my clothes and shoes in the same closet as my husband. And its not a walk-in closet! All my clothes in one shared closet!!!
I wore the red dress on Tuesday which was my first official day back in the territory. I saw a few of my top clients that day. I met one of them for coffee at Starbucks and we tried the new protein egg option- it was tasty! I also took one of my favorite clients out to lunch at Alcapulco. It was his birthday so we surprised him with birthday flan and the servers sang to him. I ate all the flan even though it was supposed to be for my client. I am so addicted to sugar right now- I need to detox from sugar...
I wore the leopard print blouse on Wednesday. I was in DTLA and I knew I would have to walk a few blocks for some appointments so I planned on wearing flats because my old lady feet are not loving wearing heels every day. Had some great meeting and met some clients out for lunch at this great Ramen place called 3rd generation. So good! I also met another client for happy hour that evening. I decided to be dry till Super Bowl so I had a Mexican Coke at the Ace Hotel. She had a Moscow Mule. I was jealous.
On Thursday I wore my own dress (boring- I know) with a rented coat. It was cold and rainy that day so I was glad that I rented this coat because I don't own anymore coats in my physical closet anymore. Well, I do but they are more causal or for skiing and not appropriate for work. That day was more client meeting and taking one to Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ. I opted for the salmon even though I wanted ribs. Damn to dieting! I just want to eat chips and chocolate and be skinny...
Friday was the black wrap dress. I actually own this dress myself in other colors and patterns (I have owned at least 10 in my lifetime) but I decided to rent this because I knew my size in it and I knew that it would be work appropriate. I'm a big fan of Diane Von Furstenberg- I haven't met a dress of hers I didn't love. I just saw clients that day- no lunches or drinks. It was still a good work day.
Not every piece I get from RTR will fit and/or I will wear. Sometimes there are rips or have stains and and I will send it back right away but before I do I will always notify customer service to let them know via email, chat on the app or by phone. Either way I contact them, they are always pleasant and always accommodating. When this happens they usually request for me to sent the article back right away and ask me to pick a new piece that they will send out in the mean time. RTR customer service really knows how to take care of their clientele.
Here is an example of something I did not wear. It is a Waverly Coat. It fit great and it was warm but the lining on the inside was torn on both of the sides were the hips were. I just felt that I did not want to wear it that way. So I took a few selfies to document the garment and called customer service and let them know of the defect in the coat. I sent it back the day I got it. Just dropped it off at the UPS store. Yes I am wearing my PJ's and heels. I just got home and I wanted to get comfy so I slipped on my night shirt and I put back on my heels just for the pic- my legs look better in heels and that's why I did that.
I love RTR. There branding is excellent. They truly make the renting experience an fun and exciting one. They make their members always feel very special. Included in my rentals was a small New Years gift: a necklace with a little gold key and it says "...We gave you the key to our closet. Cheers to unlocking excitement, adventure and possibilities in 2017."

***I've been updating my blog and my YouTube channel so I decided to add this video to this post. Enjoy!!!
We've already gone through 8 days of 2017 but I feel as today is when I feel like the year will start for me. I was away all week and I will be in my territory hitting it strong for this year starting tomorrow. I'm in my home office today preparing for the week ahead. I've already work out, ate breakfast and dropped off my LeTote at the post office and my RentTheRunWay at the UPS store. I was going to drop off my Switch at the post office as well but their office is in West Hollywood and they said I can drop it off in person and pick up my next piece. I'm pretty excited about that. Yay!
How my rentals works:
LeTote: I used to just drop off the "tote" at the post office in the bins but I learned from the LeTote FB group (LeTote Reviews and Discussion) that I'm in that if I have the post office scan it in, LT will be notified within a couple of hours and I will be able to customize my next tote. Normally LT's totes are 3 articles of clothing and 2 accessories. They made a recent change that you can do 4 pieces of clothing and no accessories for the same price. I just make that switch. This time around I picked two work tops to wear with my suit and a casual cardigan and sweater for the weekend. I can't wait to share it with you. I will probably keep the next tote for 5-10 days depending if all the pieces fit and work with my wardrobe. Finger crossed that I get my next tote on Friday.
RentTheRunway (the Unlimited program): You can rent 3 pieces of clothing/accessories at a time. There is no time limit on how long you keep each item. When you are ready to return a piece, you drop it off at the UPS store and once it gets back to the RTR warehouse, I get an email notifying me to choose another piece. They just opened up a RTR store in Topanga Village in Woodland Hills so if I'm close to there- I can drop it off there and immediately have the ability to choose another item on the app. I will be there on Thursday so I will drop off another piece this week. I usually wear an item a couple of times before I return it. That's about how long it takes for me to get bored of an item. The longest I've had a piece was 25 days. It was a black Derek Lam coat and I kept it so long because it went with everything! DL was in the mail today. I am definitely ready for something new.
Rocksbox: 3 pieces of jewelry picked by a stylist based on your style. When I sighned up for Rocksbox I took a style quiz and also marked a bunch of jewerly to my "wish list." From there, the stylist mails your 3 pieces (bracelet, ring, earrings or necklace). Once I receive them, I like to try it on and give feedback right away to let the stylist know what I love, like and dislike in the package. I wear them as long as I want and when I'm ready for something new- I just send it back through the mail. Rocksbox requires you to return all items all at once before you can get new items. I usually keep my box for about a week. I've been requesting statement necklaces and bracelets a lot lately. I'm having a lot of fun with them.
Switch: Another jewelry rental service but they have high end designer stuff like Hermes and Chanel. Right now I'm only doing 1 piece at a time but I may jump it up to 2 pieces. I usually like to keep these pieces for a 7-10 days but the last piece I've had for 3 weeks- I loved it so much. Valentino, leather with gold studs and turquoise. Not my thing or at least I thought but I wore it a lot.
These rental services have allowed me to minimize my closet and maximize my wadrobe at the same time. I've been able to experiment with fashion in a way that I never thought possible. It's definitly a new year and a new me! I can't wait to share with you my attire for the first work week of the year in my territory.

Every January I have to venture outside of my territory to meet with my team and rest of the company for my National Sales meeting. This year it was in Phoenix, AZ. The last two years we were in Las Vegas which was so much fun! Truth be told that I was disappointed that we weren't headed back to Sin City but I'm over the moon that we weren't anywhere in the East Coast. Don't get me wrong- I love me some NY and some Boston but with the 3 hour time difference... 7:30am start time is really 4:30am for me which means I have to be up at 3:30 my time to shower, put makeup and be ready. That is not easy for this west coast girl.
Tuesday 1-3-17: Badgley Mischka navy dress and Derek Lam black coat. Both from Rent the Runway. My accessories was a statement necklace and a cuff bracelet from Rocksbox. I also wore a scarf rented from LeTote
Wednesday 1-4-17: Black and white button up top with a pink bow rented from LeTote. The skirt is mine and I just got it. It will probably the only suit purchase I will hopefully make this year. It's from Hugo Boss. I have a jacket and pants to go with this too but I opted not to bring it to this meeting.
Thursday 1-5-17: Raoul dress from RTR.
Friday 1-6-17: I actually had a different dress lined up but I noticed a stain on it so I didn't want to wear it. Side-note: I called RTR about it and is sending me a replacement item right away. They have the best customer service! RTR coat, LT scarf, Valentino leather studded bracelet from Switch.
This is Roger Ibbotson. If you are a fiancial advisor- you know who this is. I've been in Financial Services since 1999 and I've been looking at Ibbotson charts since then. Mr Ibbotson is a financial legend and I was a total fangirl and asked to take a picture with him. He was so kind. I was so geeky about it too. I had nothing good to say and I look like a big nerd! I live in LA and I run into celebrities all the time. I never ask for a picture or even speak to them but this "celebrity" was one I had to shake their hand. And I'm glad I did!
I'm a Packer fan. I'm such a Packer fan that I even had my wedding colors green and gold. But there is something to be said about Peyton Manning. He is such a gentleman. The way he carries himself on and off the field. And he's funny too! Super Bowl champion and a true leader in every sense of the word. My company had him come out and speak to us about teamwork, leadership and hard work. Very inspirational. I wish I could have gotten a pic of him or shook his hand. I was sitting pretty close to the front so I'm happy with the pics I got. This is a picture of the big screen. The other pics I have, Mr Manning has weird faces in them so I decided to use the best one I had
Over all my trip to Phoenix was fun. I am dry right now (till Super Bowl) so I didn't get into too much trouble. I did check out Chase Field and The Cobra Arcade Bar which is a 21 and over place with vintage video games. A lot of fun!
Best part of traveling with #rentedfashion? Dropping them off in the mail before heading back home. My suitcase was lighter and by the time I got home I could pick out new items for my #adventuresinrentedfashion.

In effort to have a creative outlet in my life, I've decided to start a blog about my adventures in rented fashion. I've been toying with the idea since I started renting my clothes and accessories about 6 months ago. So its a new year, a new me- here is my outfit of the new year:
- My fave Packer hoodie (GO PACK GO!)
- My new fave Sunday t-shirt
- My Girl Collective leggings (2nd time wearing them- not sure if I like them yet)
- My NorthFace snow boots (because this LA girl is cold)
- My watch
- My necklace from GloriousGirlJewelry.etsy.com
- Rented Valentino leather and turquoise bracelet from Switch
- Rented Gorjana Lola Cuff from Rocksbox
Duties of the day:
- Hanging out at the house
- Grocery store for a few staples
- Walk the dog on the beach
